What does the Nature Coast have to offer? Is it worth the move?
December 28, 2009

Hernando County which is comprised of Brooksville, Spring Hill and Weeki Wachee is a real neat place to live. I moved here from Long Island over five years ago and I don't mind a "sun storm" versus a snowstorm.

We have the Weeki Wachee State Park with the mermaid show which is not only affordable, it is quite enjoyable for the whole family. In the warmer months it also has a water slide and you can go swimming in the natural spring. I have gone kayaking down the Weeki Wachee River which is some experience. I had my cousins from Scotland and we rented some kayaks and besides the laughter, the trip was something they are still talking about. It takes about three hours and it is all down river and then the kayak rental place picks you up and brings you back. I am by no means a kayeker but I thoroughly enjoyed it and it wasn't hard at all.

If you are looking for a quiet little beach we have Pine Island which also has a little restaurant there. My friends and relatives who visit just love it. Of course if you are looking for waves, you will only find calmness there.

My favorite breakfast place is in Brooksville - Farmer Johns Key West Cafe which makes you feel like you are in Key West and the menu is unbelievable and the food plentiful.

Take care and have a Happy New Year! Come visit us soon and don't wait to buy that dream home. The rates and prices are low, low, low. Call your realtor today.
